International Code Council (ICC)

The International Code Council develops model building codes and support services, enabling effective administration and enforcement to deliver safe, sustainable, and resilient buildings and communities globally.

Current activities supporting enhanced energy efficiency, carbon reductions and resilience:

  • The International Energy Conservation Code (IECC) and International Green Construction Code (IgCC) include zero energy pathways and a commitment to continual improvement in efficiency and carbon emission reductions with each subsequent edition.
  • Leading the Global Resiliency Dialogue with code development organizations from Canada, Australia, and New Zealand to develop guidance on addressing future climate risk in codes and standards.
  • Supporting Alliance for National & Community Resilience benchmark development, enabling community identification of resilience gaps and improvement measures.
  • Contributing to GlobalABC research and action towards zero-emission, resilient buildings.
