Planners work at the intersection of transportation, development, land use, and community engagement to tackle the climate crisis and lead communities to a cleaner, safer, and healthier future. The American Planning Association aims to ensure that planners and communities have the skills and resources to measure, model, and mitigate climate change impacts while advancing policies and plans that help people manage change and reduce emissions. Using planning to link infrastructure investments and development to climate goals is the best way to meet vital climate targets, protect the vulnerable, and advance local visions of a better future for all.
